Specialist service terms

Additional information and acceptance requirements for non-standard shipments.

Draft for legal review · Not in force.
These proposed terms must be approved by qualified transportation counsel and aligned with Howl’s legal entity, operating jurisdiction, insurance and signed contracts before use. They do not amend existing agreements or remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Version 0.2 · October 18, 2026 · No effective date

01Dry van, LTL and partials

Confirm dimensions, weight, stackability, handling units, classification where required, packaging, pickup and delivery access. Consolidation or transfers must match the service accepted. Do not assume exclusive-use equipment or a delivery guarantee unless it is agreed.

02Reefer, food and temperature control

Provide written temperature setpoints, permissible ranges, operating mode, pre-cooling, loading temperatures, sanitation, segregation and monitoring requirements. Agree on checks, records and exception escalation before loading. The parties must allocate sanitary transportation responsibilities as required by law. A reefer is not a promise to cool improperly prepared product or a guarantee against every temperature variation.

03Flatbed and open-deck freight

Disclose exact dimensions, weight, lifting points, load stability, centre of gravity and cargo susceptibility to weather. Agree on tarping, dunnage, blocking and securement responsibilities. Tarping is not waterproof packaging or an all-risk guarantee. Carrier safety duties remain applicable.

04Heavy haul, oversize, RGN and lowboy

Accept only after equipment, dimensions, axle loading, permits, route restrictions, bridges, escorts, surveys, loading arrangements and destination access have been reviewed. Rates and schedules may depend on permit conditions and verified measurements. Changes require a revised plan; no movement may proceed contrary to a permit or safety requirement.

05Expedited and team operations

Confirm actual equipment, staffing and available transit plan in writing. Urgency does not override driver qualifications, hours-of-service, road restrictions or safe operation. A time-critical request is not an unconditional delivery guarantee.

06Power only and trailer interchange

Identify trailer ownership, roadworthiness, inspection, maintenance, cargo custody, insurance, physical damage, cleaning, return location and use restrictions in a separate written schedule. Report defects before movement and document pre- and post-use condition. No blanket acceptance of trailer damage or unrelated cargo liabilities is implied.

07Drop trailers and dedicated programmes

Agree on placement, dwell, access, yard responsibilities, loading, security, availability, detention, maintenance and return. Programme volumes, exclusivity or capacity commitments require a signed schedule; a forecast alone is not a guaranteed capacity reservation.

08Drayage, terminals and containers

Supply container and booking details, availability, release information, weight, chassis needs, appointments and return instructions. Allocate demurrage, detention, chassis and terminal charges in writing. Terminal access or release cannot be guaranteed. Verify customs holds and cargo readiness before dispatch.

09Dangerous goods and hazardous materials

Disclose proper classification, quantity, packaging, markings, documentation, emergency information and any required permits. Service requires explicit acceptance after checking qualifications and route requirements. The offeror and carrier retain their respective statutory duties; a website enquiry does not authorize movement of regulated cargo.

10Bulk, tanker and commodity-specific equipment

Confirm commodity identity, compatibility, prior-load restrictions, cleaning standards, containment, sampling, loading and discharge arrangements, site safety and environmental responsibilities. Specialist facilities and equipment must be approved for the particular product. No food-grade, chemical or hazardous qualification is implied by a service listing.

11Local, final mile and vehicle movements

Confirm access, restricted areas, liftgate capacity, safe unloading, appointment windows and whether inside delivery or additional labour is included. For vehicles, document condition, operability, dimensions, clearance, securement, keys and authorized loading method. Consumer household-goods services are not offered or accepted under this commercial-freight draft.

12High-value and sensitive cargo

Disclose value, security needs, theft sensitivity, controlled access and product restrictions in advance. Agree on route, stops, monitoring, custody, insurance and valuation options. No pharmaceutical, medical, security or other specialist certification is claimed by this website.
