01Written approval and role clarity
A separate signed agreement must identify the contracting entity and the lawful role under which it engages the partner. These standards alone do not award work or appoint Howl as a broker. Where a separately contracted broker arranges carriage, use the properly identified brokerage agreement and shipment confirmation.
02Authority, qualifications and insurance
Maintain required authority, registrations, permits, qualified drivers and appropriate insurance for the accepted service. Supply verifiable documents and promptly disclose material expiry, suspension or coverage changes. Exact limits and endorsements belong in the signed agreement; a certificate alone does not expand coverage.
03No unauthorized transfer
Do not rebroker, subcontract, substitute an identity or transfer custody without required written authorization and lawful authority. Verify pickup identity, carrier, driver and equipment against the accepted booking. Report suspected fraud promptly and independently verify changed instructions.
04Safety and service obligations
Maintain lawful equipment and safe operating practices, including driver qualifications, hours-of-service, inspections and securement. Drivers must retain authority to refuse unsafe instructions. Communicate delays, cargo exceptions, incidents and material equipment changes and preserve accurate records.
05Specialist work and custody
Accept only services for which the partner is qualified and equipped. Follow agreed temperature, dangerous goods, oversize, cargo security, seal, trailer and border instructions, together with applicable law. Document custody and condition at handovers.
06Commercial and liability terms
The signed agreement must set rates, accessorials, invoicing, payment, insurance, claims, subcontracting, confidentiality, lawful indemnities and dispute terms. Avoid blanket obligations conflicting with mandatory law or insurance. These proposed standards are not a substitute for that agreement.
07Records and data
Use customer and shipment data only for authorized performance and legal requirements. Protect contact, driver and tracking information; limit access, retain required records and report security incidents. Agree on any tracking requirements and notices before service.
