Quotes, charges & payment

Written commercial terms for each accepted shipment.

These proposed terms must be approved by qualified transportation counsel and aligned with HOWL’s legal entity, operating jurisdiction, insurance and signed contracts before use. They do not amend existing agreements or remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

01Quote essentials

A final quotation should state contracting entities, origin, destination, commodity assumptions, equipment, dates, currency, base rate, fuel, taxes, inclusions, exclusions and expiry. Quotes depend on complete and accurate shipment information and are not bookings until accepted in writing.

02Accessorial schedule

Agree on detention free time and hourly charges; layover; cancellation or truck ordered not used; additional stops; driver assist; loading or unloading; lumper charges; tarping; tolls; permits; escorts; scale fees; storage; redelivery; and trailer or container detention where applicable. Do not treat an unspecified fee as automatically authorized.

03Changes and evidence

Record shipment changes, approvals, arrival and departure times, receipts and supporting documents. Notify the customer of foreseeable additional charges. Where an emergency requires immediate lawful action, document the reason, mitigation and costs; recovery remains subject to the applicable agreement.

04Payment and credit

Use the agreed credit terms and verified payment instructions. State invoice documentation, due dates and lawful remedies in the executed agreement. Credit approval, factoring, assignment and third-party payments require appropriate verification. No default payment period, finance charge or personal guarantee is imposed by this prototype.

05Disputed charges and claims

Raise invoice questions with shipment references and supporting facts. Cargo disputes and freight payment obligations must be handled under the governing agreement and law; this page does not override valid set-off rights or statutory remedies. Continue to preserve claim and litigation deadlines during discussions.
